San Leandro

The city of San Leandro is a diverse residential city in the East Bay located between Oakland and Hayward. Originally known for its prosperous cherry farms, San Leandro has become home to many food processing operations and several corporate business including Ghirardelli, OSIsoft, Otis Spunkmeyer and Andronico's to name a few. With its 450 berth marina, two golf courses, large community library and five shopping centers, San Leandro continues to grow into a family-friendly city with plenty of activities for both adults and children.

You can explore San Leandro through one of its 16 parks, such as 30-acre Marina Park situated along the shoreline or by completing the town’s history walk. The San Leandro community comes together weekly on Saturdays from 9-1PM for its farmers’ market held at the Bayfair Center. There are also other community events such as its annual cherry festival in June which celebrates the city’s origins in cherry harvesting.

There are several transportation options throughout San Leandro. Highways 580 and 880, AC Transit, and BART provide transportation to and from San Leandro and its neighboring cities. There are also several bike paths throughout San Leandro which provide beautiful views of the city’s Bay Area scenery.
